Artist working between Riyadh and Los Angeles, exploring dimension through mixed media

Two Cities, One Vision

I split my time between Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Los Angeles, California, and that constant movement shapes everything I make.

My background spans business, film production, and art. But it was during lockdown in 2020, stuck in my house in Riyadh, that I rediscovered the studio space I'd been ignoring.

What started as pandemic boredom became an obsession with layering different materials to create depth that traditional painting couldn't achieve.

The Path to Mixed Media

Early Days

The Beginning

Seventh place in a Riyadh city art competition in sixth grade. The creative bug was planted early.
1990s

Formal Education

Studied at Colorado Institute of Art and University of Miami. Learned traditional techniques but wasn't ready to commit fully to art.
2000s

Business Ventures

Built a retail business in Saudi Arabia—fashion, then interior decorating. Art took a backseat while building other skills.
2019

Film Production

Met a filmmaker in Los Angeles, started a production company. Learned about layering stories, which would influence the art later.
2020

Artistic Awakening

Lockdown in Riyadh. Discovered the unused studio in my house. Started experimenting with acrylics and never stopped.
2023

Two-City Dynamic

Rented a studio in Los Angeles while expanding business operations. The two-city dynamic became central to the work.

The Creative Process

My creative process is about experimenting with different techniques, materials, and ideas. It's ongoing, always evolving, never settled.

"What drives me is the pursuit of depth – both visual and conceptual. Traditional painting felt limiting, so I started layering different materials to create something entirely new."
